MAASTRICHT – THE INTERCONNECTED CITY - STEVEN TALLMAN

Maastricht has a fascinating history and yet that history is not very accessible. Dutch history textbooks rarely mention Maastricht nor Limburg, and a book on the history of Maastricht in English has yet to be published. 

From Roman Times, Maastricht was an interconnected city. Since the Roman’s first built a bridge over the Maas, the city was strategic and fought over by many armies. This presentation will trace the history of Maastricht from pre-historic to contemporary times in a fast paced lecture, followed by Q&A. Come learn about the history of our city in English, presented by an American expat who has fallen in love with Maastricht.
